Writer Awards

Award Description
Captain's Commendation CaptainCommendationRibbon.png This award is given at the captain's discretion as a token of appreciation for any act or contribution to the sim which is especially worthy, useful and helpful, going over and beyond what would normally be expected in day to day simming.
Award of Excellence ExcellenceRibbon.png Awarded for major contributions to a sim to include extra log writing and helping to carry the plot forward at either the command team's request or by own initiative in consultation with command, and making a significant contribution to the mission in all aspects of simming. Also awarded for a high level of support and assistance throughout the mission, including administration and related projects that are a useful resource to all.
Semper Fi Ribbon SemperFiRibbon.png Awarded for exemplary service outside of combat, contributing quality logs regularly and consistently, helping develop and progress the Marine element of a sim, working with Command to achieve smooth cohesion between Naval and Marine elements. Can also be awarded for OOC input including recruitment, administration and organization.
Soyuz Star Ribbon SoyuzStarRibbon.png For creativity and depth in writing one or more NPCs that play a significant and interactive part of a mission, helping along and adding to the main plot (or approved sub-plot) with all the attention to detail that would be expected of a regular playing character.
Inferno Award InfernoRibbon.png For clear, vivid, and skillful descriptions of battle sequences over the course of a mission, whether ground or space combat. Using creative and technical skills to such degree that the reader is swept along with the action, and can become completely transported in their mind's eye to the scene of the action.
Insight Award InsightRibbon.png This award is given to a writer who shows exceptional depth in their writing by developing their character in ways that show long-term effects, either from singular dramatic events or over a long period of time, but that leads to the character being different than they were to begin with.
Gibraltar Crescent GibraltarRibbon.png This award is given to those writers that manage to stay level with a plot despite an overwhelming number of logs and/or events going on, even during a time of real-life crisis and/or other obligations. The writer in question may only be able to put out the minimum of one log a week, but their attention to detail and ability to remain focused on the plot stands out.
Bronze Fleet Commendation BronzeFleetRibbon.png Awarded to a writer who displays real motivation during a mission, over and above the normal duties. This can be for well-rounded character development, contributions to minor sub-plots, energetic logging and good teamwork.
Silver Fleet Commendation SilverFleetRibbon.png Awarded to a writer who develops and runs their own sub plot from start to finish, with superb character development, which enhances and complements the main plot without detracting from their duties. Or, if appropriate, runs as a stand-alone story on detachment (by agreement with the CO), for the entertainment and interest of their fellow simmers, always upholding their duties as a Starfleet officer.
Gold Fleet Commendation GoldFleetRibbon.png Awarded to a writer for exemplary simming throughout an entire mission, including superb interaction with other crewmembers, quick responses to IC orders, good communication with the command team, and display of awareness of the mission ideals throughout. In addition, the writer will have contributed logs consistently over and above the normal requirements, of excellent quality and depth, balancing minor sub-plots and mission-related duties with equal panache.
